Corona Extra 0.355 L - 6X

Corona Extra is a Mexican pale lager with an alcohol content of 4.5%. It is one of the most recognizable Mexican beers in the world — the clear bottle, golden color, and familiar wedge of lime have long been part of Corona’s image.

Corona has a light, refreshing taste. The malt adds a touch of smoothness and sweetness, while the hops bring a mild bitterness that never dominates. This makes the beer easy to drink and especially enjoyable when well chilled.

The aroma has subtle malty and fruity notes. The flavor itself remains clean and fairly neutral, without the pronounced bitterness or heaviness found in fuller-bodied beers.

Corona Extra is made with water, barley malt, corn, and hops. Its bitterness is around 18 IBU, so it comes across more as a light background note than the main part of the flavor.

Serving Corona with lime is a distinct part of the brand’s culture. A wedge is usually placed directly in the neck of the bottle: the citrus acidity adds freshness and pairs well with the lager’s light flavor. This serving style has become one of the brand’s most recognizable images.

Corona was launched in Mexico in 1925 and quickly became one of Grupo Modelo’s flagship beers. Today it is sold around the world, but the 0.355 L version available in Estonia is still produced in Mexico.

Corona Extra does not require elaborate snacks or a special occasion. It pairs well with tacos, pizza, grilled meat, light snacks, or simply whenever you feel like opening a cold beer and adding a little lime.
